The Curse

I never understood it at first. As a kid it scared me.
I noticed it first with my parents. Every morning they would look at me weird. They would be scared. They loved me dearly, but the shadow of fear never left their eyes for a moment.
Trust me, nothing's worse than seeing fear in your parents' eyes, and realizing that you, their only child was the cause of it. Eventually I became afraid of myself too. Afraid and disgusted.

Parting

Why doth you not speak to me, sweet friend?

Are my words falling on ears that hath turned deaf to my voice?

Is thou not pleased at the sight of the letters which adorn this letter?

Conversation between friends

(in collaboration with my friend)

You need to get out of them more and look around mate,
Your fandoms are becoming your life!

"Look around at what", she asks.
Got any suggestions?
I'd love to hear some

Then and Now

The sunlight glared down upon her as she emerged from the cool darkness of the library. She shielded her eyes as she paused for a moment, gathering her bearings. She thought of wearing her sunglasses, but they were too tight around her ears and hurt her head. So she decided to forgo their usefulness for this time.

Only a Second Option

I am right here. All you need to do is just look. Just reach out once, and you'll find me. You'll see me waiting, maybe a little impatiently, but with a lot of hope. All it takes is but a wish on your part, to see me, to hear me, to know that I am here.
But apparently its too much to ask for. Because you are busy with your life, and I just stand at the sidelines. Because the only time you remember me is when

Ebb and Flow

It was a game that they played,
A dance that they danced,
Though where it began, and where it ended,
They had not but a clue.

She was naive to think so,
He was clever to do not,

Missed connection

You weren't there when I went to search for you!
I braved the fiery sun of Ottawa,
rode aboard the dangerous OC transpo, while fending off creatures looking like people
and walked through the confusing maze of uOttawa
but alas!

Guess what? There are other anime than Naruto!

I loved going to the Comic Book Shoppe in Ottawa. I still do as a matter of fact. However my enthusiasm has gone down a little bit. All I see there now are mostly merchandise of Naruto, Bleach and One Piece. Any reference I see on Facebook pages about anime bears the pictures of character from those specific anime only, and a handful from Dragon Ball Z (DBZ).

I won't even deny it. IT MAKES ME MAD!

All work and no play

Squeak, squeak, squeak.

A lot of things make the squeaking sound. But this particular one is coming from a black marker pen being used on me. Ah, I should have introduced myself sooner. Nice to meet you. I am a whiteboard.

Tumult

Sitting there, motionless.
Disappoint washing over like a tsunami.
Drowning in the tidal waves.
Staring ahead: everything is empty.

Ode to Simon Baker

Those devilish blue eyes,
Curls, sparkling blonde,
One hint of that mischievous smirk,
Alas! I'm undone.

Going Inside

I leveled my eye. The beast looked straight back at me. The hero stood in my front, sword naked in his hand, while I notched an arrow in my bow.
He circled the beast from one side. I ran up to a higher ground to get a better aim. The hide was of the creature was strong enough to block attacks from the finest warrior wielding the strongest sword, but the body was not my target. I held my weapon ready for the perfect opportune moment. A bead of sweat trickled down my forehead. I had one shot at this, probably my only shot.

A White Piece of Paper

I found a clean, white piece of paper one day. There was nothing too fancy about it. It was one of those commonly found pages that have blue lines going through them, to make the handwriting the even.
But it was beautiful. Not a single scratch on it. Not even a blot of ink was on it. It was like a clean slate, waiting to be filled with ideas. That one single piece of paper was not any less tempting that the first page of a brand new notebook.

Students will be students

Growing up in a country on the other side of this spinning ball that we call home, I never thought about other countries much. Sure, I've visited a few places, but my world was there. It was everything I knew, until I moved here. Other countries always seemed different to me, with different kinds of people who probably would not share the same mentality as me. So when I first arrived in Canada back in 2009 after getting accepted to University of Ottawa, to say I was nervous would be the understatement of the year.

Like Snow

I feel like untouched snow
that lay in piles, beside the road.
So white,
so pure,
so beautiful, that you are afraid
to come close,
to touch,
to feel. So you remain far, admiring,
and I remain untouched, unfeeling,
lonely.

"Insert Title Here"

For lack of a proper word, I leave the name of the title open to everyone. You can enter whatever word you wish to enter, and leave it at that.

Anyway, Hellos!!! That was an extremely long hiatus that I took from writing, and my only usable excuse is: school.

The late Bangladeshi writer Humayun Ahmed wrote in one of his books that: "We waste the most precious time of our lives by studying." I cannot help but agree with him.
